Selenity is delighted to announce Macmillan Cancer Support as their charity partner of the year. Selenity asked their colleagues to vote for the charity they would like to support over the coming year, which resulted in an overwhelming response in favour of the charity.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides physical, financial, emotional and medical support to people and their friends and families living with cancer.

"Macmillan is a wonderful charity and we're incredibly proud and excited to be supporting them this year. We asked colleagues to choose from several charities, but we had a very clear winner in Macmillan. It's exciting to hear some of the fantastic ways colleagues intend to raise funds and awareness for Macmillan and I look forward to seeing what this year will bring" said Neil Everatt, Chief Executive Officer at Selenity."

The partnership kicked off with an official launch where six Charity Champions were introduced who will be leading the campaign and be the driving force in the organisation and promotion of fundraising and awareness activities. The Charity Champions shared their personal reasons and drivers behind championing this project.

The Charity Champions have drafted some cool and creative ideas for activities where everyone has the chance to get involved, have some fun, get a little competitive and raise some money. During the launch, the Champions announced the first two activities, the first being a company raffle for the chance to win an extra days holiday, and the second being participation in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 27th September. Colleagues will be getting their bake on, and bringing in a selection of treats and delights ready to be judged by our resident cake experts (every single colleague) and devoured!

Jamie Davenport, Senior Fundraising Manager, Lincolnshire joined Selenity at the launch to officially kick start the partnership and fundraising activities. Speaking at the event Jamie said, 'I’m thrilled that Selenity has chosen to support Macmillan over the next year. It’s a big year for the charity, with our new Cancer Support Centre being developed at Lincoln County Hospital, as well as new nurses and professionals being taken on to support local people.

I know everyone at Selenity is fully behind the partnership and I can’t wait to see how their fundraising takes shape. Their support means Macmillan can be right there for people living with cancer in Lincolnshire."
