The only Expenses solution with automatic driver checks
On Saturday we introduced our latest innovation to improve driver safety with the launch of an automatic driver and vehicle data ‘look-up’ service provided within our award-winning Expenses cloud technology.
We are the only Expenses solution to perfrom automatic duty of care checks using data sourced from the DVLA, which provides an efficient and cost-effective way to authenticate driving licence validity, and populate entitlement and endorsement information for company drivers. Vehicle look-ups provide accurate and timely data on employees’ vehicle MOT and Tax status – a requirement for businesses under duty of care obligations relating to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
One in three people injured or killed on UK roads each year were ‘at work’ at the time, making driving the biggest single health and safety issue for most businesses. Not only that, duty of care can be costly for businesses wanting to check their employees’ information using data sourced from DVLA, costing a company on average £10 per driver,” comment
Deborah Saunby, Sales and Marketing Director at Selenity commented “Thanks to our partnership with Licence Check, we’ve been able to remove that cost for our Expenses customers who will save money using our own auttomatic duty of care service, as well as reduce the administrative burden of manually checking all employees’ driver and vehicle documentation.
Driving for work purposes is very often overlooked by companies as a health and safety issue so we’re thrilled to be able to launch this new service to our customers. It’s a real game-changer, which will help employers more closely monitor the health and safety of its employees that do travel for work.”
The Driver Check feature within Expenses is carried out automatically, with employees’ consent, and instantly populates data, ensuring businesses are meeting its duty of care obligations in ensuring their drivers are safe to make work-related journeys.
Checks can be scheduled to perform driver look-ups every three, six or 12 months to suit an organisation’s individual needs or depending on a driver’s risk profile. All employees provide consent and verify their licence details within Expenses and, once provided, all details are automatically populated.
