150 NHS Organisations Choose Cloud Expenses Service
Selenity (formerly Software Europe), provider of business process improvement and spend reduction cloud services, has added the 150th NHS customer to its cloud-based staff expenses service, Expenses Health. Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joins 21 other NHS customers in the last 6-months alone to subscribe to Expenses Health to manage staff expenses and reduce expenses costs.
Along with Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and multiple other trusts, Selenity’s NHS customers also include 25 newly formed Clinical Commissioning Groups and 4 Clinical Support Units. The number of NHS customers selecting Selenity’s cloud service in the past 6-months to Sept-14 is double its contract wins from the same period last year. Similarly, the company’s Turnover is 18% higher in the 6-months to Sept-14 versus the same period last year.
In fact, during the last 12-months to Sept-14, Expenses Health has processed £88m of staff expense claims, up from £65m in the previous 12-months. It is also now supporting 770,000 NHS employees’ expense claims, up from 600,000. Expenses Health continues to be the most widely deployed expenses cloud service in the NHS.
Deborah Saunby, sales director, Selenity says: “Expenses Health is proving a massive success in the NHS because of its ability to deliver much needed cost-savings and rapid ROI. The NHS spends around 80 per cent of its expenses budget on mileage - a figure that Expenses Health is designed to reduce by up to 20 per cent.”
Selenity’s cloud-based Expenses Health saves money and resources by enabling submission and approval of claims online and via mobile apps; mileage validation checks, NHS rules based calculations, and seamless integration with NHS ESR (Electronic Staff Record) for managing the entire expenses process through to payment accurately and efficiently. Claimants’ benefit too from a quicker and simpler expenses system, linked to their company’s policy, which improves claim accuracy ensuring faster reimbursement, with track-able progress and minimal fuss.

We’ll also be prioritising activities which help us diversify further into the local government and education sectors, following our recent success at Northumberland County Council, to help support their cost reduction aims.

Overall, Selenity has achieved 47% average annual growth since 2002 with 84% of its revenues coming from recurring business.
