Absolutely Fabregas! Second charity match raises money for local causes
It’s been an incredible year down at Sincil Bank as Lincoln City FC won the National League and reached the quarter finals of the Emirates FA Cup. On 6th June, another vitally important game is being played down at Sincil Bank. Selenity (formerly Software Europe) colleagues will be playing against staff from the University of Lincoln to raise money for two charities, Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes Service and the Children’s Ward at Lincoln County Hospital.
This is the second year the annual match has taken place with £2000 being raised last year and victory for the University of Lincoln.
Neil Everatt, CEO at Selenity commented, “Last year’s match with the University was a fantastic event that raised a lot of money for some local charities.
We have a lot of fun working with our partners at the University of Lincoln and being able to get together on events such as the match to raise money for local causes says all it needs to about the spirit of Lincoln.
We share very similar values and attitude with community and collaboration being at the heart of what we both do. We hope to raise even more this year and maybe even nick the win!”
Ian Hodson, Rewards Manager at the University of Lincoln added, “The University is delighted to be working with our partners at Selenity to host our second annual charity football match with the support of our friends at Lincoln City.
Being able to support two wonderful local causes in the Children’s Ward at the County Hospital and the Lincolnshire Emergency Blood Bikes through the combined efforts and networks of our two organisations is a testament to the values shared by our workforces. We are looking forward to an enjoyable night of football and hopefully beating the charity total from last year.”
This match is only possible thanks to the support of our friends at Lincoln City FC who have let us use their facilities.
