1st May 2019 – Selenity, a provider of finance and HR cloud technology, today announces the launch of its NHS Driver Compliance Pack. Designed to help NHS Trusts ensure that all vehicles are roadworthy and meet legal requirements. The comprehensive service includes four key checks around driving licence status, vehicle tax, MOT and insurance along with business classification.

All employers have a duty of care to protect their employees and Selenity has long recognised the need for driver duty of care to be an integral part of claiming mileage expenses. The new pack will open up affordable duty of care checks to the NHS, providing quick, accurate and auditable checks on all driver documentation. Ultimately, this allows Trusts to protect their NHS drivers and release hours of valuable time back to finance and HR departments along with clinical staff; ultimately giving more time for patient care.

Neil Everatt, Selenity Chief Executive Officer commented, "We're incredibly lucky to have been working with the NHS for over 10 years. Throughout those we've been able to bring market leading features which support the NHS in exactly the right way. Travel mileage plays a huge part in expenses reclamation and we recognise the administrative challenges facing the NHS. Manual checking of driving documentation is an enormous task for many organisations, the NHS Driver Compliance Pack provides an affordable solution which takes care of everything."

Duty of care has formed part of the functionality within Selenity Expenses since 2009 and Selenity built on this with the launch of automatic licence checking in 2017.

Deborah Saunby, Sales and Marketing Director commented, "The early responses we've received regarding the launch of the NHS Driver Compliance Pack have been astounding. With a significant amount of business mileage undertaken each year, we know that duty of care is high on the NHS’ priority list, especially as it’s been included in the Agenda for Change. We want to help the NHS effectively manage driver and vehicle checks, not only so they can compressively meet their duty of care obligations but also for the safety of drivers and members of the public.”

The pack is currently available for NHS organisations, however there are plans to introduce a similar offering for the private sector throughout the year.
