Selenity partners with emTax to tackle employee tax compliance
Organisations facing the challenge of understanding and adhering to HMRC rules will benefit from a new partnership between Selenity (formerly Software Europe) and employment compliance and tax advisors, emTax.
Following HMRC’s restructuring plans in July 2013, organisations have become increasingly vulnerable to more stringent HMRC audits on their employment tax compliance – for example in high risk areas such as IR35 contractor checks, expenses and benefits payments, PAYE and NI contributions etc. Already half way through its restructuring programme, one of HMRC’s main priorities from the 2014 Budget is to double compliance yields and raise £24.5 billion by 2014-15 and £26.3 billion in 2015-16.
Organisations facing the challenge of understanding and adhering to HMRC rules will benefit from a new partnership between Selenity and employment compliance and tax advisors, emTax. The new alliance will enable Selenity to offer its customers a cost-effective P11D bureau service and employment tax advice and training service for the first time alongside its proven cloud service, Expenses and its complete expenses outsourcing service, Expenses Expedite.
Jas Jhooty, Director of emTax says, “We’ll be available to Selenity’s customers, already successfully using the Expenses system, to review existing expenses and benefits policies to ensure they adhere to all of the intricacies of employment tax legislation. For new customers and prospects, our two companies can deliver a combined offering of both the systems and knowledge needed to stay compliant. With HMRC heavily targeting organisations, the potential fines of hundreds of thousands of pounds for non-compliance could have a serious impact on profits.”
Jas adds: “emTax, in partnership with Selenity, will be offering Selenity’s clients a 50 per cent reduction in employment compliance and tax advisory fees, compared to the Big Four accounting and auditing firms. Organisations need to be suitably prepared for the inevitable HMRC Employer Compliance Review and that is something we can help them with at a more affordable price.”
“We are in a unique position in the market to be able to advise our clients on the importance of updating their expenses policies, as well as their expenses software. This partnership will mean that we can offer our clients a one-stop shop for both software and affordable professional services, as most clients who are looking to upgrade their expenses systems will also be looking to ensure that all of their accompanying expenses policies and procedures are up-to-date as well.” says Deborah Saunby, Sales and Marketing Director at Selenity.
